The route begins near the main entrance and ascends gently to the upper terraces, located by the Guardian’s House (Casa del Guardián). From these viewpoints, visitors can admire the entire urban and agricultural layout of the Inca city, framed by the surrounding peaks of Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain, with the Urubamba River flowing far below.
Circuit 1B does not include access to the inner sectors of the archaeological complex but is designed primarily for photography and contemplation. The vantage points here are ideal for understanding the geographical and spiritual harmony of the site, where Inca architecture blends seamlessly with the natural landscape.
